I found out tonight that Lukas passed away on Sunday. You might remember this sweet boy from last summer, a Pet Project Rescue dog, who was given every fighting chance they could give him. It’s especially sad coming so soon after sweet Lazo’s passing last week. I’m so grateful I had the chance to photograph both of these inspirational dogs and meet the people who made life possible for them.
Earlier today, before we knew about Lukas, Maia posted an article about an amazing woman that I just had to share. (caution: it’s a tear-jerker) It feels so good to know that there’s people out there who are truly making a difference, not just in these animals’ lives, but in their own lives and those around them, inspiring them and filling them with enough compassion and love to spill over into even more lives. It can only get bigger and better.
We’ll miss you, Lukas.
Beautiful boy! And that story.. I’m still sobbing.
Can’t believe it, we just talked about him. I wanted Lukas to make it. My condolences to the people who cared for Lukas.
Oh my goodness. Whenever I read something like that, I do the only thing I really know to do. Pet my dogs.
Lukas was the reason I found out about PPR in the first place. I saw his picture on their facebook page and knew I had to help, no matter how little.
I am glad that Lukas had the chance to know that he was loved and was surrounded by those people when he had to go.
RIP beautiful.
He is smiling in both photographs. I can tell he was a happy and loved boy. Your photographs will definitely keep a memory of him alive.
