Our September Rescue of the Month is RAGOM! (Retrieve a Golden of MN) This wonderful rescue has been around since 1985, when Hank and Jane Nygaard took home a Golden Retriever who’s time was up at a shelter. They got her spayed, vaccinated and re-homed, then saved another and another, and built the volunteer-based organization that’s still around today. While many of the rescues we feature are primarily Twin-Cities based, RAGOM also serves greater Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota.
Coming up on Saturday, September 22nd, RAGOM is having their biggest annual fundraising event, Goldzilla. It’s a day of music, food, activities, exhibitors and a 5k Walk For Rescue. Check out this video for more info:

Preston is a sweet boy who was originally rescued from a puppy mill and re-homed through RAGOM in 2008. Due to a family change, he was surrendered back to the organization and is ready for his new forever home. His right eye is cloudy for unknown reasons, but his sight is not affected. I love that it looks like he has one brown and one blue eye.
Meagan is a super shy girl, also rescued from a puppy mill. She’s made huge progress in her foster home, and you can read about it on her adoption page. She would love a family who’s willing to keep working with her and help her be the confident, happy girl she wants so badly to be.
Check out RAGOM’s Facebook page to keep up on all the latest happenings. If you’re interested in making a donation or volunteering with Retrieve a Golden of MN, you’ll be making a big difference for a lot of these gorgeous, loving dogs.
