The featured pet organization for July is our good friends at Pet Project Rescue (PPR)! This foster-based rescue not only rehomes dogs and cats from our community, but from Mexico as well. (read about my Mexican adventure with PPR here) They are also dedicated to reducing the homeless pet population at its source through funding countless spay/neuter clinics, and trap/neuter/return programs for feral cats. Many of their clinics focus on low-income areas of the Twin Cities, and those who own bully breeds.
Another PPR project that’s close to my heart is the Lukas Project. This is a “permanent foster” hospice program for dogs and cats in Minnesota shelters with a terminal illness. These animals are at the end of their lives, and this program provides love and comfort before they pass, whether it’s for a year, or even just a day. I’m very proud to donate my services in photographing the Lukas Project animals. PPR is always in need of sponsors and special foster homes for this program.
PPR has a variety of events coming up, including a kitten shower at Bone Adventure NE on August 11th. Come enjoy kitten races, games with prizes, snacks, and lots of adorable, adoptable kittens. I had the pleasure of photographing one of their litters of black kittens last week, and boy are these guys spunky! Super cute, super playful, and each one really has their own unique personality. Here’s some fun shots from the shoot:
PPR foster dog, Tina, came into the studio for her photos, too! She’s a CUTE little Chihuahua, supermodel-esque with her long legs and sweet face.
There are lots of opportunities to volunteer with Pet Project Rescue, give monetarily, or donate much-needed supplies. And of course, be sure to follow PPR on Facebook for the latest news and events.
