Our Rescue of the Month for September (which is almost over already, yikes!) is the Upper Midwest Chapter of the English Springer Rescue of America (ESRA). Some of you may know that my childhood dog, Sam, was a Springer Spaniel, and I’ve had an affinity for the breed ever since. ESRA is a foster-based rescue, focusing on purebred English Springer Spaniels and some occasional mixes as well. The Upper Midwest Chapter serves Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and the Dakotas.
A couple of handsome boys came into the studio for their adoption photos. First up is Marley. He’s struggled with allergies and food-guarding behavior, but with help from his foster mom over the past 6 months, he’s made an amazing turnaround and is ready for his forever home! You can follow Marley’s training progress on his blog: mealtimewithmarley.com.
Next is Remee, and according to his listing, has an adoption pending! Yay! He’s a quiet little guy, learning about the world around him and how to trust people.
You can connect with ESRA on their Facebook page or learn how you can help the rescue on their website. There’s opportunities for fostering, becoming a member, monetary donations, or donations of much-needed supplies.
