With our Giving Back program, we feature a different animal rescue or organization each month, and donate a portion of every session fee to them. In addition, if you’ve adopted from a Rescue of the Month, you can receive a $100 print credit if you book a session during their month!
July’s feature is our good friends at Pet Project Rescue (PPR)! PPR is a 501(c)3, rescuing and rehoming animals since 2008. All of their cats and 85% of their dogs are rescued from local, high-kill shelters, and they’re focused on reducing the homeless animal population at its source. They dedicate much of their funds and volunteer efforts to provide spay / neuter services for our community, and in less fortunate communities in Mexico. Check out this blog post from 2011 when I traveled to Mexico with them to document a spay / neuter clinic.
We photographed 2 adorable adoptables for PPR, Petunia and Bevi.
Petunia is a sweet, tuxedo-colored girl (like my boy, Simon!) and she loves getting pets from her foster mom. She’s great with other cats and kids, and is ready for her forever home.
Bevi is a mellow girl, who is very social with other dogs and cats. She is a little wary of new people, but it didn’t take her long to accept some treats from me in the studio, and once she gets to know you, she’ll be your best friend forever. She was rescued from Mexico, and her breed mix is unknown, but she’s believed to be a Boxer / Lab mix… I think she’s got some Dalmatian in there too!
Check out PPR’s Facebook page for updates on their adoptable animals, and upcoming events. If you’re interested in volunteering or fostering, information can be found on their site here: http://www.petprojectrescue.com/volunteer
