This gorgeous Rottweiler just turned 5, and she has Lymphoma. She wasn’t doing well on chemo, so they stopped treatment, and she’s been feeling much better. She was very excited to show me her toys when I got to her house :)
Inca is one of the best-trained dogs I’ve had the pleasure to photograph, and she was a sweet, gentle snuggle-bunny. You’ll see some shave-marks on her legs from the vet, and she tired out pretty quickly when we took her outside, but other than that, you’d have no idea she was sick. Lots of love to Inca and her family.
This is her best friend, Ralphie, who came over show his support…. and get slobbered on.
This is one very loved dog.
those last two shots are gorgeous, sarah. you can totally tell how well loved she is.
also, on a totally unrelated note – i never got back to the grade show to get a photo for you! but it was a huge canvas of that blue image on the right hand side of your intro page to your website. did they not tell you?!
Inca is so beautiful! I love them all but the last one is just awesome what a wonderful, treasured moment.
She is absolutely gorgeous- lots of love to her family :)
First off – GORGEOUS dog!!! When I saw the first picture, my heart melted and by the end I was in love. I want to go out and adopt a dog today. I love photo of half her face. What a creative idea. That one and the first one would be hanging on my wall.

I love these sessions that you do, for someone that loves their dog so much, there could be no better gift than something like this. However, as much as I love these sessions, they break my heart (I am really on the verge of tears) because it makes me think about my Chevy and how much I would miss her if she were gone and how much love and joy she brings to my life.
A few weeks ago she turned 3 and I realized, my baby is not a puppy anymore and I got sad.
Thank you for sharing this families heart and thank you for reminding me to appreciate the days I have with Chevy.
What a sweet girl…. I love the 2nd set of shots- that duck toy looks almost real in the first one! ;) They’ll treasure these photos for sure!!
what touching images… and I love the shot of her w/ her doggy friend, Ralphie. Fabulous images, Sarah!
I just saw the picture you took of Laura’s Buddy and thought I’d check out your work….now I have tears in my eyes of these BEAUTIFUL pictures. So valuable and touching!
These are all so beautiful. I’ve cried three times already today from catching up on all your recent posts. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful!! The eyes are the soul, and Inca’s soul leaves me speechless. I lost a loved black Terrier cross, rescue dog of ll years last August, and an aging, loving Golden Retriever came into my life to see me through the winter. Her days are measured, too.
What wonderful photos you have to keep Inca with you. Yes, many tears, but wonderful memories!
I lost my Cocker Spaniel that I had since my husband bought him when he was 4 months old as a suck up gift. He was my baby. He was born with a heart murmur. At 13yrs old it finally over took him and with seizures, an enlarged liver, and incontinence (which upset him more than it ever did me) we decided to let him go. My sweet “puppy face” was very special (as they all are). It took a lot of time to get pictures showing his many “faces”. It would have been so nice to have this type of photos taken. What you do is very special. God bless you and your talent!
