Ah, it’s Monday. It seems crazy that this time last week I was in Seattle, eating baby clam linguini in the Pike Place Market. Our vacation flew by, and we crammed a lot of fun into those 4 days. Coming back to 8 orders to package and ship, 7 sessions to edit and 3 albums to design is a bit overwhelming, but totally worth it. Dustin and I stayed with our good friend, Vanessa, who graciously gave us the use of her car to explore the city. We hit “The Market” and “The Needle,” checked out Alki Beach and Golden Gardens, took a Duck Boat Tour with the fabulous Jamie of Cowbelly Pet Photography (she’s awesome and I’m SOO glad we finally got to meet!) Did a bit of wine tasting, toured a chocolate factory, ate cheap sushi and drank good coffee. (No, not even once at Starbucks… which, by the way, seriously IS on every single block)
Seattle Coffee Works served up the best cup of coffee I believe I’ve ever had. I asked for a cafe au lait, but they brewed up something more unique…. I think it was something like an americano with steamed milk or something (I’m not all that coffee-knowledgeable) But yeah. Delish. I liked all the crunchy hippie bakeries and shops, and had my fill of gluten-free, vegan baked goods. I’ve decided that the entire town smells like patchouli and has more hills than anyone should allow.
Thanks to Keith and Trycia for being our super fun vacation buddies! I didn’t shoot as much as I thought I would, but I was happy to get what I did. Here’s a few big collages of my Seattle experience. Enjoy!
That bonfire photo? WANT. THAT.
Wow! Tremendous photos as always. Agree that the bonfire one stopped me in my tracks. Love the shot of the birds taking off over the water, too!
Aw. These make me love my city even more! I’m totally happy I got to show you some of my favorite spots, including Seattle Coffee Works and Gold Gardens!
Amazing SB, you are so talented.
Those are some amazing pictures! Makes me want to go back!!
Great photos Sarah! Makes me want to relive that week! What a great trip!
OMG I positively ADORE your collages!! If these were my photos I’d make a big gigantic wide canvas and hang them in my dining room. Amazing Sarah! It was fantastic to meet you too. I only wish you lived here so we could hang out all the time, sniff sniff. Glad you had a great time in my loverly city! :-)
How FUN. Great vacation, great shots!! If this is what you got when you “didn’t really shoot”, I can’t imagine the coffee table book you could publish if you were even trying! Thanks for sharing.
thanks for all the great comments guys :) can’t wait to go back!
awesome pix sarah. cool to see jamie sporting the pink holga :) whoot!
Ahhhhh! I can’t believe I missed you! Next time you come (which hopefully is sooner than later) we find another insanely touristy thing to do together :)
Glad you had a great time – gorgeous photos (of course!)
Hey Sarah, did you use Compositor to design this? I just learned about it. Don’t know if you saw my blog post today, but using that software would have saved me about 6 hours of time (doh).
