Look at me, blogging the Rescue of the Month on the actual FIRST of the month! :)
For October, we’re featuring Secondhand Hounds, one of my faves. (although I do have a lot of faves) They’ve only been around for a year, but they’ve already found homes for 445 animals. And the fabulous Rachel has done it all while either being super pregnant or caring for her new daughter. She’s seriously a rockstar. Secondhand Hounds is all foster-based, and they’re always on the lookout for more foster families. Fostering is free for you; the rescue supplies everything the animal will need, you get them ready for their new homes with basic training, socialization and lots of love. You can read more about becoming a foster here.
I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Murphy and Lucy this morning, and ohmygod. Snuggly sweethearts.
Murphy is an APBT (American Pit Bull Terrier) about 12 weeks old, and such a good boy. He knows sit, but has so much puppy excitement, he starts to scoot toward you and wiggle while he’s doing it. UH-dorable. You can learn more about Murphy here.
Lucy is a sweet little Shepherd mix from Red Lake. She LOVES treats and toys and being everyone’s best friend. Please contact Secondhand Hounds for more information on her and her siblings.

They have an office in Minnetonka that you can visit during office hours. See their schedule and contact info here.
10% of all session fees this month will go to this awesome rescue. If you have ever adopted from Secondhand Hounds, you will receive 50% off your session during the month of October. Learn more about our Giving Back Program here.
