Continuing with our Giving Back Program, the March Rescue of the Month is Stray Feral Rescue. They are an all-volunteer, no-kill, pet fostering and adoption organization that provides education, resources, referrals, and advocacy to benefit all animals and the humans who love them. They take in owner-surrenders, and (as their name suggests!) stray and feral cats and kittens. They work mainly with cats, but they do have an occasional dog available for adoption as well.
I photographed Josie at her foster home, where she enjoys watching the birds from the radiator, and playing with her catnip toys. She had a litter of 4 kittens almost a year ago, and after some work on socialization, she and her kids are ready for their forever homes. Josie would be happiest as an only cat, or to be adopted along with one of her kittens.
